Happy Veteran's Day! Today, we honor and remember all those who have served including three of our own, Ryan Sullivan, Travis Baxter, and Leonard Dean.
Ryan, a signal engineer, served for four years as a Radio Operator in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he learned discipline and unlocked his potential, going from high school dropout to a Dean’s List recipient. Reflecting on his time in the Corps, Ryan says, "The Marine Corps instilled in me discipline and showed me I was capable of more. I am grateful for my time in the Corps and the friends I made there."
Travis, a project manager, served in the U.S. Air Force for four years as an Aerospace Propulsion Specialist-Turboprop/Turboshaft. His experience in the Air Force provided him with skills that have greatly impacted his career. Travis shares, “Outside of the exceptional education benefits my military experience has helped my career by teaching me extensive troubleshooting skills, how to follow specific processes and procedures, and how to manage multiple complex situations at the same time. It gives you a whole new perspective on how you do things when you and your crew have to fly back home over the ocean on the airplane you just fixed.”
Leonard, a CADD specialist, served in the U.S. Army for six years, with three years active duty and three years in the reserves as an Airborne Infantryman (MOS 11B1P). While his military role didn’t directly shape his career path—since there’s little demand for Airborne Infantrymen in civilian life—his service profoundly impacted him. Leonard says that the Army made him, “realize that I am able to do much more than I thought I could and that alone has helped me tremendously in every aspect of my life.”
Thank you, Ryan, Travis, and Leonard for your service and dedication, then and now. We are fortunate to have you on the MRS team.
