MRS provided comprehensive installation services for the wayside signal system equipment along a 20-mile stretch of Amtrak’s west rail line, between Kalamazoo and Chicago. This project encompassed 16 grade crossings, 4 intermediate signals, and 1 electric lock location. Each site involved installing new signal cabling, fiber network cabling, a new signal house, and new signals. Additionally, MRS performed all fiber optic testing and supported the prime contractor and owner with all cutover testing, ensuring a seamless transition to the upgraded system. This work enhanced operational efficiency, safety, and reliability for both passenger and freight services.
