Our Work in Practice
The RTD Welton Street Safety Improvements Project is nearing completion, with L Line service now restored to the Downtown Loop and Welton Street Corridor. This milestone follows the successful installation of safety upgrades along the segment between the 20th/Welton and 30th/Downing stations, previously the corridor with the highest accident rate in the light-rail system.
The Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) completed the installation and testing of the enhanced safety measures implemented along the Corridor, allowing for the reopening of the L Line.
MRS served as the single point of contact, overseeing the project's design, furnishing, testing, and commissioning. The project scope included designing and supplying signal and auxiliary battery cases, modifying SCADA points within the Operational Control Center, and performing comprehensive signal testing.
This project highlights RTD's commitment to safety and reliability, and MRS is proud to have played a central role in bringing these improvements to life.
