Lynnwood Link Extension

This project involved extending Sound Transit’s light rail system by 4.8 miles of double-track. The alignment runs through a narrow corridor parallel and adjacent to Interstate 5. It features approximately 1.9 miles of direct fixation track on an elevated guideway and 3 miles of ballasted track in an at-grade guideway on retained cuts and fills.

The scope of work included constructing two stations, preparing infrastructure for a future third station, and building two large parking garages. MRS provided systems construction, testing, and equipment for both the at-grade and aerial guideways. Additionally, the project involved significant modifications to the control systems at the Maintenance Facility and Operation Control Centers, ensuring seamless integration with the extended rail system.
