Petaluma North Station Platform
Installing signaling systems to enhance safety in Petaluma.
Installing signaling systems to enhance safety in Petaluma.
This project involved furnishing, installing, and testing signal and crossing equipment for a new station north of Petaluma. Upon completion, the project included three temporary point protection software switches, four new signal houses, modifications to signal houses in 20 other locations, and 12 new pedestrian gates.
The implementation was carefully phased to ensure minimal disruption to existing operations. The three temporary point protection software switches were strategically installed and managed throughout different stages of the project to maintain safety and efficiency during construction. Each phase was meticulously planned to align with operational schedules and minimize impact on transit services.
Additionally, MRS conducted a comprehensive 56-hour systems cutover to ensure that all systems were up-to-date and communicating properly. This cutover involved thorough testing and validation of the integrated systems to guarantee seamless and efficient operations once the new station became fully operational.
