Vineyard Commuter Rail Station
Serving a growing community.
Serving a growing community.
This project involved constructing a new passenger station and extending the existing siding 1.5 miles on the FrontRunner alignment to serve the growing community of Vineyard.
During preconstruction, Rocky Mountain System Services (RMSS) (a joint venture of MRS and MJG) coordinated with all parties to ensure that the systems work was well-planned and compatible with civil and track requirements. RMSS also collaborated with major suppliers to identify and procure long-lead systems materials, ensuring the construction phase would not be delayed by supply chain disruptions.
In the construction phase, RMSS worked with subcontractors to progress the systems design to a final configuration, leveraging its extensive knowledge of the FrontRunner Positive Train Control (PTC) system. The train control modifications included adding new interlocking and extensive equipment and software updates at multiple adjacent locations.
RMSS planned and executed the systems construction work in multiple phases, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure our subcontractors' success. This effort included simulation testing of all affected train control locations to detect and correct any software defects prior to the final cutover.
