East Contra Costa BART Extension

This project involved constructing and implementing trackwork, systems, station finishes, and testing for a 9.1-mile double-track extension of BART’s rail system.

As a joint venture partner, MRS was responsible for the comprehensive systems work, including the design and installation of train controls, 12 signal control houses, 240,000 feet of control cable, 160,000 feet of fiber optic cable, 29 separate track switch assemblies, and 57 train signals. Additionally, MRS provided the headend train control software (TDX) and hardware necessary for operations, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced functionality across the extended rail network.
