Chicago Union Station

Amtrak upgraded their I-ETMS system on all the Chicago Union Terminal main tracks, with MRS installing and upgrading services for the wayside PTC equipment. This project successfully navigated the challenges posed by the high volume of train traffic associated with Chicago’s Union Station.

The MRS scope of work included installing fiber optic equipment and wiring logic controllers into existing houses across four control points. Additionally, MRS installed one new house and replaced the Genisys units at the Taylor control point. We completely rebuilt and tested one of the major control points, which included adding a three-track cantilever, and replacing outdated equipment at two major interlockings.
