This project involved constructing a 2-mile streetcar system within an existing rail corridor, beginning with a tie-in to the operating north and south TRAX Light Rail line. The new line starts at this light rail hub, extends east to a popular dining and shopping area, and connects residents of the Sugar House neighborhood to the broader TRAX rail system. The scope of work included embedded track, 12 road crossings, train and traffic signals, 8 stations, a catenary system, and traction power substation infrastructure.
